The PS-3 Digital Pitch Shifter / Delay is a pitch shifter pedal that is the successor to the PS-2 pedal of the same name. As a pioneer of the multifunctional compact pedal, it is still popular even though it has been discontinued.
In order to reduce noise and improve the sound and functionality of the pitch shifter, the circuitry, including the core DSP, was completely redesigned.
The compact size of the pedal is equipped with a 24-bit processing system, which was a marvel at the time, and the sound has been dramatically improved.
In addition, it now offers 11 modes, including 8 pitch shift modes and 3 delay modes, making it an even more complete pitch shifter and delay.
By connecting an expression pedal to the EXP jack, the PS-3 can be used as a pedal pitch shifter, allowing you to control the pitch with your feet.
This is not only an invisible improvement in sound, but also one of the main new features of the PS-3.
You can also use it as a kind of "Digitech whammy"
The PS-3 also supports stereo output, making it possible to play two amplifiers simultaneously.
In particular, modes 8, 9, and 10 allow you to mix the pitch-shifted sound set in PITCH A with the original sound, or the pitch-shifted sound set in PITCH B with the original sound.
By outputting sounds from two amplifiers with different octaves or slightly different pitches, you can create a more expansive sound and create a kind of twin guitar sound as if two people are really playing the guitar at the same time.
