    The original of this spirited, leaping unicorn is part of an elaborage support for a ate 17th-century enamelledglass beaker,  In medieval times the unicorn symbolized the incarnation of Christ and the principle of moral purityin action.
    This legendary beast, still thought to be an actual reature in the 17th century, retained a powerful hld on the popularimagination well into the seventeenth century.
    This Museum of Modern Arts' adaption is cast in pewter, 24kt. gold electroplated, and antiqued.
    It is attached to a black acrylic base.
